Hytera is working on a radio console for motorcycles. This is really interesting because it has a wireless interface to the radio…no cables to run. They also have both a wired and wireless helmet kit for speakers and microphone.
There are some small features that will be really nice, like a magnetic connector for the helmet cable and an ignition sense circuit to automatically turn the radio on and off with the motorcycle ignition.
This page looks like it has information from a FCC certification application. I don’t know if this device is bound for the US or not.
